Glossary

Plain-English definitions for every MYSOVA term. The Owl uses these words a lot. Now you know what they mean.

XP: Experience points awarded for verified venue clock-ins, dwell milestones, party clock-ins, Owl Questions, SVS Score submissions, and challenges. Multiplied by zone (1.0×–1.5×), subscription tier (1.0×–2.0×), party size (1.0×–1.5×), and venue tier base. Server-attributed; every point shows on your XP receipt.
Rank: 10 rank tiers (Owlet → Local → Regular → Scene Maker → Night Owl → Pathfinder → Tastemaker → Phantom → Legend → SOVA) mapped across 99 numeric levels, with Ultimate SOVA as the level-99 pinnacle. Sub-levels carry Roman numerals. Curve gets steeper at higher ranks.
Phantom Mode: Universal privacy toggle. Hides member from Paths discovery, Who's Here lists, and public leaderboards. XP keeps counting on private ledger. Distinct from the Phantom rank tier (the rank kicks in at level 70).
Paths: Phone-verified strangers who shared a venue with you on the same night surface in your Paths feed. Tap CROSS to express interest; mutual CROSS becomes a Crossed Path conversation. Same-venue/same-night is a hard database constraint — not a dating app, not a radius slider.
Crossed Path: Mutual CROSS between two phone-verified members who shared a venue on the same night. Unlocks the messaging surface. The Owl Remembers Crossed Paths in your Night Recap.
Owl Questions: Drip MCQ trivia on London nightlife. Fires every 30 minutes outside quiet hours (02:00–10:00 London). Win 10 base XP × tier multiplier per correct answer. Weekly cap 20 attempts. Share-bonus +5 XP if a friend answers correctly.
SVS Score: SOVA Venue Score — a 10-dimension crowd-sourced venue rating. Submit only after 120 verified minutes inside the venue. 100 XP per submission. Reviews are filtered structurally for genuine venue-time, which is why SVS is more trustworthy than Google or Tripadvisor on London nightlife.
Oracle: MYSOVA's Claude-powered AI assistant. Suggests where to go next based on the crowd, your DNA profile, your night so far, and zone density. Rate-limited 10/hour and 50/day per user.
Live Loyalty Rewards: Venues directly reward loyal or currently-present users with opt-in perks routed through MYSOVA — queue skip, free entry, table reservations, cloakroom comp, soft drinks, and (where 18+ verified and ASA/CAP-compliant) drink offers.
Boost: Live XP multiplier a venue can activate for a specified window. Stacks with zone multiplier, tier, party size, and subscription. Boost-eligible venues are typically Marquee or Partner tier.
Zone: MYSOVA divides London into 17 nightlife zones (Soho, Shoreditch, Mayfair, Dalston, etc.) each with its own XP multiplier and venue lineup. See /zones.
Venue Tier: Four tiers governing clock-in XP base: Ghost (25 XP), Verified (50 XP), Partner (100 XP), Marquee (200 XP). All venues are listed free; tier governs base XP, not feed visibility.
Night Recap: End-of-night auto-generated summary: route, zones visited, total XP, Crossed Paths, dwell milestones. Shareable as a 1080×1920 Stories card. The Owl Remembers each night's recap for the lifetime of your account.
Streak: Consecutive nightly clock-ins. Milestones at 7, 14, 30, and 100 days. Free tier gets 1 streak freeze; Explorer 2; Icon 3.
Party: Group co-presence loop. Roles (Host, Scout, Anchor, Spark, Bouncer, SOVA) carry 20–50 XP role bonuses. Mega Clock-In synchronises all members. Tier gates host capacity (Free 0, Explorer 5, Icon 10).
Referral: Share your code or link. When a friend joins and clocks in at their first venue, you earn +500 XP and they earn +250 XP. A free-subscription ladder unlocks as your invited friends grow: 1 = 3 days Explorer, 3 = 1 week Explorer, 5 = 1 week Icon, 10 = 1 month Explorer, 25 = 1 month Icon, 50 = 3 months Icon + Co-Founder badge, 100 = 1 year Icon.
The Owl Remembers: MYSOVA's tagline. The Owl is SOVA — the brand mascot. Every clock-in, every Crossed Path, every Night Recap, every XP movement is logged and visible to the member. The Owl never forgets.
