London nightlife in 2027: what is confirmed so far

By , founder ·

Short answer

As of 3 November 2026, this much is set for going out in London in 2027. England and Wales have eight bank holidays in 2027, and the clocks change on Sunday 28 March and Sunday 31 October [1][2]. In TfL's timetable today, the Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights, and New Year's Eve 2027 is a Friday [3]. From Saturday 2 January 2027, Angel station will be exit-only on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays [4]. Martyn's Law is expected to apply to larger venues from spring 2027, on a date not yet set [11]. Everything below has a source, and what has not been announced is listed as not known.

How this page works

MYSOVA, a London nightlife app, publishes this page. It was written on 3 November 2026 and lists only what had been announced, with a source, by that day. It does not predict openings, line-ups, prices or ticket sales. A line about the future says whose plan it is and when they stated it. We re-check the page as each date nears and date every change.

  • The clock changes. The clocks go forward at 01:00 on Sunday 28 March, so the night of Saturday 27 March is an hour shorter. They go back at 02:00 on Sunday 31 October, so the night of Saturday 30 October is an hour longer [2]. Halloween is that Sunday.
  • Christmas and New Year. Christmas Day 2027 is a Saturday and Boxing Day a Sunday, so their bank holidays move to Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December [1]. New Year's Day 2028 is a Saturday, and its bank holiday is Monday 3 January 2028 [1].

Getting there and getting home

The Night Tube

In TfL's timetable today, the Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Windrush lines [3]. TfL's press releases for October and November 2026 announce no change to it for 2027 [7].

On that timetable, the night of New Year's Eve 2027, a Friday, is a Night Tube night anyway. The night of New Year's Eve 2026, a Thursday, is not [3]. For New Year's Eve 2025, TfL said on 2 December 2025 that, apart from planned closures, services would run all night [8]. TfL's October and November 2026 press releases hold no plan yet for New Year's Eve 2026 [7].

Angel station from 2 January

From Saturday 2 January 2027, until further notice, Angel will be exit-only on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. You can still leave the station on those days, and it runs as normal on weekdays [4]. TfL says the change extends the working life of the station's escalators, some of which are nearly 35 years old [4].

To start a journey nearby on those days, TfL names King's Cross St Pancras, about 1 km away (buses 30, 73, 205, 214 and 476), Old Street, about 1.5 km away (buses 43, 205 and 214), and Highbury & Islington (buses 4, 19, 30 and 43) [4]. Angel is 70 metres outside MYSOVA's Islington zone, and no Night Tube train calls there [5].

Fares

TfL's bus and tram fare is £1.85, with a daily cap of £5.55 on pay as you go [6]. TfL's press releases for October and November 2026 announce no fare change for 2027 [7].

Licensing and the rules venues work under

The Mayor's call-in power

Since 29 June 2026, some licensing decisions in London wait for the Mayor. When City Hall has flagged a premises-licence application as of potential strategic importance to Greater London, and the borough grants the licence with changes or rejects it, the borough's decision does not take effect until the Mayor of London either lets it stand or gives the borough a direction about the application [9]. The power was added to the Licensing Act 2003 by the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 [9]. How often it will be used in 2027 is not known.

The National Licensing Policy Framework

The government published the first version of a National Licensing Policy Framework on 26 November 2025 [10]. It is non-statutory guidance, and it applies only to premises licensed under the Licensing Act 2003 for on-sales of alcohol, regulated entertainment or late-night refreshment [10]. The government says it will develop future versions of the framework [10].

Martyn's Law

Martyn's Law is expected to come into force in spring 2027. The Security Industry Authority, its regulator, says it will confirm the exact date ahead of time [11]. The law covers premises where 200 or more people may be present at the same time: premises for 200 to 799 people are in the standard tier, and premises for 800 or more are in the enhanced tier, which carries more duties [11]. The SIA plans to invite volunteers to test its notification portal from early 2027 [11].

The Nightlife Taskforce and the Nightlife Commission

On 27 January 2026, London's Nightlife Taskforce, set up by the Mayor in February 2025, published its report with 23 recommendations across 10 areas [12]. They include a London-wide licensing standard, re-establishing the Late Night Transport Working Group, and using noise monitoring technology in decisions about noise complaints [12]. It also recommended an independent Nightlife Commission, and the Mayor announced a £300,000 grant to help set one up [12].

In October 2026, City Hall said the London Nightlife Commission is an independent body set up by the industry, and that the funding agreement for the remaining £275,250 of the grant was expected to be finalised by January 2027 [13].

The Rex's date is a plan: Mixmag reported on 26 February 2026 that the building would be redeveloped over the following year, with plans to open at the end of 2027 [17]. This page lists a 2027 opening only when its operator, or a report quoting the operator, gives one. The Rex is the one listed so far.

2027 on MYSOVA

MYSOVA is a London social passport: clock in at bars, pubs and clubs, earn XP and meet people where you go. A MYSOVA night runs from 08:00 to 07:55 the next morning, London time, so a clock-in at 01:00 on New Year's Day 2027 counts towards your night of 31 December 2026 [20]. Where to go out in London in 2027 gives the map's figures for each of the app's 17 zones, and getting home at night by area lists the night trains and buses near each one.

Your first clock-in starts your passport.
