London at night
Where to go out in London in 2027, area by area
By Pavel Vassiltsenko, founder ·
Short answer
Pick the area before the venue. MYSOVA's open-data map places 358 venues inside the app's 17 London zones [1]. Soho has the most, with 51, then Shoreditch with 40, and Islington and Mayfair with 30 each [1]. Soho also has 10 of the 28 clubs inside a zone, Shoreditch has 7 of the 39 live-music venues, and 21 of Clerkenwell's 28 venues are pubs [1]. Twelve of the 17 areas have a Night Tube or Night Overground station in or beside them [2]. This guide was written in November 2026 for nights out in 2027. It gives the map's figures as they stand, not a forecast, and it is re-checked whenever the map's data changes.
How this guide counts
- The areas. Each area is one of the app's 17 zones: a shape drawn on MYSOVA's map, not a borough or a postcode [1][3]. A clock-in inside a zone earns that zone's XP multiplier, which runs from 1.1× to 1.5×. A clock-in outside every zone earns the 1.0× base [3].
- The venues. A venue counts when the map's open-data file places it inside the zone's shape [1]. The file holds 2,315 venue points: 358 inside a zone and 1,957 outside every zone [1]. The app itself lists 2,400+ venues [3]. This guide counts only the map file's points.
- The categories. Each venue's category is the one the file gives it, so a venue filed under the wrong category would shift these counts [1]. In the table, "Bars" adds together bars, cocktail bars and wine bars. "Other" covers lounges, rooftop bars, karaoke, sports and hotel bars, and venues the file does not classify.
- Night trains. From MYSOVA's guide to getting home by area, which read TfL's timetables on 27 October 2026 and counts a station inside an area or within 200 metres of its edge [2]. The Night Tube and the Night Overground run on Friday and Saturday nights [2][4].

Where the clubs, the live music and the pubs are
- Clubs. 28 of the venues inside a zone are clubs. Soho has 10 of them and Brixton 4. Shoreditch, Mayfair, King's Cross and Peckham have 2 each [1].
- Live music. 39 are live-music venues. Shoreditch has 7, Camden 6, Hackney 5, and Soho and Islington 4 each. The file places none inside the Mayfair, Dalston, Bermondsey or Kensington zones [1].
- Pubs. 148 are pubs, more than any other category. Pubs make up 21 of Clerkenwell's 28 venues, and all 6 of Kensington's and all 4 of Bermondsey's [1].
- Bars. Counting bars, cocktail bars and wine bars together, Soho has 19, Shoreditch 16 and Canary Wharf 11 [1].

What is set to change in 2027
- Angel station. Exit-only on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays from Saturday 2 January 2027, until further notice. TfL names King's Cross St Pancras, about 1 km away, Old Street, about 1.5 km away, and Highbury & Islington as the stations to start from instead [5].
- The Night Tube. In TfL's timetable today it runs on Friday and Saturday nights on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Windrush lines [4]. TfL's press releases for October and November 2026 announce no change to it [6].
- Larger venues. Martyn's Law is expected to come into force in spring 2027, on a date still to be confirmed. It covers premises where 200 or more people may be present at the same time [7].
What is confirmed for London nightlife in 2027 has the year's bank holidays, clock changes and announced dates.
Your XP in each area
MYSOVA is a London social passport: clock in at bars, pubs and clubs, earn XP and meet people where you go. A clock-in at most venues starts from 25 XP, and the server applies the zone's multiplier and your plan's multiplier to it [3]. How clocking in and XP work sets out the sum, and the London nightlife map shows where each of the 17 zones runs.
